Peace! The Year of Consecrated Life began on the First Sunday of Advent (November 30, 2014) and will conclude on February 2, 2016 (the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord). During this year, the whole Church is asked to consider the consecrated life (of which the religious life is a part) in a special way. Pope Francis is asking us as religious to reflect on our history, make a renewed commitment to fidelity and on-going conversion (which is essential for all followers of Christ) and to look toward the future with hope. He is also reminding us to be men and women of joy, to reach out to the peripheries of our world and to be witnesses of the love and mercy of God. Please check back regularly for new posts in response to Pope Francis’ request!
