On Saturday February 2, 2013, the Franciscans of the Eucharist received two new members! Jaime Mitchell and Matt Bradley joined our community as postulants on the day the Church celebrates the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord, and which Bl. John Paul II designated as World Day for Consecrated Life. We are so grateful to the Lord for calling Matt and Jaime to join us as Franciscans, and for their generous response to Him.
Jaime is originally from Connecticut. After studying Hospitality Management, she worked in both the private sector and higher education before serving at Maggie’s Place for three years in Arizona. Jaime found our community through Imagine Sisters, and is excited to begin her life with us in service of the Lord and our brothers and sisters in need.
Matt is originally from Michigan. After studying Culinary Arts and Business, he moved to the Chicago area and worked in the food industry. About four years ago a friend invited Matt to come volunteer at our monthly Mobile Food Pantry here at the Mission . . . and eventually, Matt came back to discern his vocation. We are excited to have Matt join us as our first man in formation!
Please keep Matt and Jaime in your prayers as they begin this journey. We are grateful to the Lord for inviting Jaime and Matt to the religious life, and so grateful to welcome them to the Franciscans of the Eucharist. There are many other young men and women interested in joining our community–please keep praying for vocations. And, if the Lord is calling you, be not afraid!
