Peace! On Saturday, April 14, after months of hard work and countless prayers, Our Lady of the Angels Church was rededicated, marking a new beginning here at the Mission!
Francis Cardinal George, O.M.I., Archbishop of Chicago, celebrated the Liturgy, joined by Bishop Alberto Rojas and Bishop Raymond Goedert, both of Chicago, and nearly 50 priests, deacons, and seminarians. The beautiful Mass was complimented by heavenly music organized by Chicago native Chris Skyles, who recruited members of various opera houses and choirs to lend their beautiful voices to the historic Mass.
Nearly 900 guests joined us for the Mass and dinner celebrations, including family members, friends, benefactors, construction works, religious sisters (including the BVMs, who ran Our Lady of the Angels School for decades), former parishioners of Our Lady of the Angels and graduates of OLA School. It was a moving day for all, and many commented on how you could truly feel the presence of the Lord!
We were blessed with fantastic media coverage, we’ll add the links soon. For now, enjoy this beautiful photo gallery from the Sun Times. God bless you, and we look forward to all the good things the Lord will do for our neighbors in need through works of prayer and service!
