Check out the wonderful article from the Archdiocese of Cincinnati’s Catholic Telegraph, to hear more about Daniel Jasek’s journey to discovering his vocation to the priesthood and his upcoming ordination to the transitional diaconate that will amazingly take place alongside his father’s ordination to the permanent diaconate. Daniel spent two months at the Mission in summer 2015, serving our neighbors, joining with us in prayer, and helping to run the Kelly Hall kids summer camp alongside a Cincinnati seminarian (now priest), another SLP Notre Dame student, and a student from Carroll College in Montana.

In the article, Daniel shares how his time with us that summer helped him to realize that, “Being Catholic is not just about gritting your teeth and following a bunch of rules, but is about a life-giving encounter with Jesus that leads to great happiness both here on earth and in heaven.” We are so proud of Daniel and praying for him and his father as they move towards ordination in just a few days’ time!
