January has been a busy month here at Mission OLA. Read on for some highlights…
January Volunteers

We were blessed to have four full-time volunteers join us at the Mission throughout the month of January. Two were seminarians from the Diocese of Green Bay and two were high school seniors from St. Ignatius College Prep. They assisted with our weekly pantry distributions, behind-the-scenes manual labor and donation receiving, and helped with religion classes and retreats alongside some of our teaching sisters. They were a huge help! A big thanks to each of them!
Franciscan-led Men’s Retreat

On January 18th, we hosted over 70 men for our first ever “open sign up” men’s retreat, entirely planned and run by Franciscans! The retreat included Mass, Adoration, confession, talks, fellowship time, and lots of food. It was a very blessed day. Keep an eye out for another blog post coming soon sharing even more highlights from the retreat.
Jubilee-Themed Community Lunch

After taking a break for our Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations with our neighbors, our Community Meal program returned with a lovely community lunch with a theme of the “Jubilee Year of Hope” (featuring a special cake decorated with the official Jubilee mascots and Jubilee-themed coloring pages for kids. It was a beautiful time to have more time to talk and spend time with our neighbors.
